Fire Fighters Union Endorses Mayor Miro Weinberger

Burlington – The Burlington Fire Fighters Association (BFFA), International Association of Fire Fighters (I.A.F.F) Local 3044 has endorsed Mayor Miro Weinberger in support of his upcoming re-election effort on Town Meeting Day, March 3, 2015. The Mayor was endorsed earlier this week by both the Burlington Police Officers’ Association (BPOA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 300.

“The Burlington Fire Fighters Association, I.A.F.F. Local 3044, is proud to show our support for Mayor Miro Weinberger on his re-election campaign,” said Michael Curtin, President of BFFA, I.A.F.F. Local 3044. “Public safety is the main concern of every Burlington fire fighter and we work hard to keep Burlington a safe community for our citizens and business owners. The Union feels that Mayor Weinberger has the highest commitment to public safety and believes that he is prepared to address the challenges that the City of Burlington will face in the coming years. The Mayor has brought some much needed development to our City, which is helping boost our economic foundation and leading the City toward a stabilized future. Our firehouses have undergone significant improvements during the Mayor’s tenure, and improvement projects are ongoing all over the City. The Union looks forward to working with the Mayor and his staff to continue improving public safety for our thriving City. It is with great pride that the Burlington Fire Fighters Association, I.A.F.F. Local 3044, announces our support of Mayor Miro Weinberger in his re-election effort as Mayor of Burlington.”

“I have been honored to work alongside the dedicated members of the Burlington Fire Fighters Association the past three years and greatly appreciate their vote of confidence in the work our team has done,” said Mayor Weinberger. “This endorsement is particularly meaningful and indicative of a strong working relationship in that it comes at a time when the City is pushing hard for meaningful reform of our seriously underfunded pension system. Our fire fighters in Burlington put themselves at risk every day to ensure the safety of our community.”
